According to the daily market news provider ForexDice Apple’s Hong Kong store sold out of the iPhone 4S within just 3 hours.
The Hong Kong Plaza Apple store opened in September so this was the first new Apple product release for the new store.
Having worked as a Specialist at an Apple Store, I find it very difficult to believe that this report is accurate unless they had an unbelievable amount of salesmen or a very small amount of iPhones. Otherwise, this 3 hours landmark would be impossible to hit.
Nonetheless, China as a whole is becoming a large audience of Apple products in general. ForexDice states:
China is playing a bigger hand in Apple’s Apple growth, as the Greater China section has accounted 16% of the total sales for the company in the quarter ended recently, which is up from a mere 2% of sales in the entire 2009.
It’s impressive to see how Apple’s products continue to encompass larger and larger audiences, especially the iPhone.
